浩瀚宇宙，地球是人类赖以生存的唯一家园。人们的一切悲欢与存续全系于此。随着人类社会的飞速发展，气候变化、生物多样性丧失、环境污染“三重危机”的现实挑战愈发严峻，传统现代化模式陷入了难以为继的生态困局。
In the vast cosmos, Earth is the only home on which humankind depends for survival. All the joys, sorrows, and continual existence of the human race are tied to this planet. With the rapid development of human society, the clear and present challenges of the “triple crises” – climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental pollution – have become increasingly severe. The traditional model of modernization has fallen into an ecological predicament that is difficult to sustain.
当北极熊幼崽难以找到一块栖身的海冰，当地球布满矿产过度开采留下的伤疤，当饥饿和贫困仍是部分国家和地区民众的梦魇……全球可持续发展该何去何从？发展与保护要如何统筹兼顾？世界期待答案。
When polar bear cubs struggle to find a piece of sea ice to rest on, when the Earth is covered with scars left by excessive mineral extraction, when hunger and poverty remain nightmares for people in some countries and regions..., where should global sustainable development be headed? China’s longstanding wisdom of ecological culture is rooted in the enduring flow of Chinese civilization. Its steadfast commitment to the development of ecological civilization runs through the unremitting exploration of modernization. Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization is a major achievement in integrating the cardinal principles of Marxism with China’s practice of ecological advancement and with the country’s finest traditional ecological culture. It scientifically addresses China’s questions, the world’s questions, the people’s questions, and the questions of our times regarding the development of ecological civilization.
新时代以来，在习近平生态文明思想的指引下，中国掀起了一场波澜壮阔的绿色变革，走出了一条发展与保护相得益彰、人与自然和谐共生的中国式现代化道路。2024年，中国地级及以上城市优良天数比例达到87.2%；地表水优良水质断面比例为90.4%，首次超过90%……成为全球大气质量改善速度最快、全球增绿最多的国家，构建起全球最大、发展最快的可再生能源体系。一项项突破与“之最”，生动诠释了新时代生态文明建设的历史性、转折性、全局性变化。绿色发展成为中国式现代化的鲜明底色。
Since entering the new era, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, China has launched a magnificent green transformation, forging a path toward Chinese modernization characterized by the mutual reinforcement of development and protection as well as the harmonious coexistence of humankind and nature. In 2024, the proportion of good air quality days in cities at the prefecture level and above reached 87.2%; the proportion of surface water cross sections with excellent water quality rose to 90.4%, exceeding 90% for the first time... making China the country with the fastest improvement in atmospheric quality and the largest increase in green coverage in the world and having established the world’s largest and fastest growing renewable energy system. These breakthroughs and “top rankings” vividly illustrate the historic, transformative, and comprehensive changes in the advancement of ecological civilization in the new era. Green development has become a distinctive hallmark of Chinese-style modernization.
中共二十届四中全会审议通过的《中共中央关于制定国民经济和社会发展第十五个五年规划的建议》，将“美丽中国建设取得新的重大进展”列入“十五五”时期经济社会发展的主要目标，对“加快经济社会发展全面绿色转型，建设美丽中国”进行专章部署，为生态文明建设指明方向。壮阔实践，展现出习近平生态文明思想的强大真理力量；非凡历程，镌刻在一个大国发展的历史坐标中。以碳达峰碳中和为牵引，协同推进降碳、减污、扩绿、增长，筑牢生态安全屏障，增强绿色发展动能，“中国之路”将越走越宽广，“中国之治”的优越性将更加彰显。
At its Fourth Plenary Session, the 20th CPC Central Committee reviewed and adopted the Proposals of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, which incorporates “major new strides in advancing the Beautiful China Initiative” among the main economic and social development goals for the 15th Five-Year Plan period and dedicates a special chapter to “accelerate the green transition in all areas of economic and social development and build a Beautiful China”, charting the course for developing ecological civilization. The magnificent practices demonstrate the powerful force of truth of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization; the extraordinary journey is engraved in the historical coordinates of a major country’s development. Guided by the dual carbon goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, China is synergistically moving ahead with carbon reduction, pollution control, ecological expansion, and increasing growth, thereby strengthening ecological security barriers and enhancing green development momentum. The Chinese path will become ever broader and the superiority of Chinese governance will be further manifested.
一花独放不是春，百花齐放春满园。中国始终秉持人类命运共同体理念，为大国使命尽责、为人类前途担当，坚持共谋全球生态文明建设之路，推动构筑尊崇自然、绿色发展的生态体系，共建绿色“一带一路”，深化应对气候变化南南合作，树立起履约践诺的全球标杆，为世界可持续发展注入巨大确定性，实现了由全球环境治理参与者到引领者的重大转变。“地球卫士奖”“世界生物圈保护区”“国际湿地城市”，中国接连获得生态环境领域的全球性荣誉，正是中国绿色发展理念与实践获得国际社会高度认同的生动例证。
“As a single flower does not make a spring; when hundreds of flowers bloom, spring fills the garden.” Consistent with its longstanding commitment to the concept of a community with a shared future for humanity and its readiness to fulfill the mission of a major country and taking a responsible approach to the future of humanity, China persists in jointly pursuing a path toward global ecological civilization by promoting the establishment of an ecological system featuring respect for nature and green development, co-building a green Belt and Road, and deepening South-South cooperation on climate action. China has set a global benchmark for implementing agreements and honoring commitments, injecting significant certainty into global sustainable development and achieving a major transformation from a participant to a leader in global environmental governance. The global accolades in the ecological and environmental fields that China has continued to garner – such as the Champions of the Earth Award, World Biosphere Reserves, and International Wetland City – are living examples of the high international recognition accorded to China for its green development philosophy and practices.

“Fully respecting the development rights of developing countries”, “narrowing rather than widening the North-South gap through transformation”, “ensuring the free global flow of quality green products”, “making green development truly benefit every corner of the world”....
