He Shen
By the moon’s twilight,
The boudoir still in sleepless night.
Away from home after the late dressing,
In groups let’s see the stars orbiting.
Upwinded are the ribbons gay,
To the moon the gold needle threads its way.
In court empty, flowers are lonely,
With persons outdoors, the night is comely.
Fingers so slim and nimble,
For a gamble of jade pins they scramble.
All young, be warned by me:
Honest and humble, you can share a longevity.
