The Seventh Evening of the Seventh Moon
To the Tune of Plucking Laurel
Magpies have built a bridge low across the Milky Way.
The bed curtains of love birds emitting wafts,
And grandeur chariot skirting on the waves,
Weaver Maid and Cowherd enjoy a night of happiness.
Their everlasting wait is rewarded only in this momentary bliss.
Melons and fruits are prepared for praying to the Weaver;
Dexterity granted is marked by spider’s web in the box silver.
The beautiful night is about to be over,
Tonight enjoyed, what then of tomorrow night?
