Christmas is a wonderful time of the year that I always look forward to. The love, the goodwill and the positive spirit of Christmas is something that touches all of us – no matter what your faith or background. It’s a time of year when we take a moment to look at our lives with a new perspective, and a time to reflect on the things we’re grateful for: our loyal friends, our loving family and our way of life here in this great city – the greatest city in the world. But it’s also a time to reflect on those and support those less fortunate than us – those who might have lost loved ones recently, or might be lonely or homeless.文章源自英文巴士-https://www.en84.com/1437.html

Friends, let me end by saying this: Southwark Cathedral does hold a special place in my heart. As the Canon said – it’s where I had my inauguration as Mayor less than eight months ago. And as the Bishop mentioned, it’s where we signed the Faith and Community Declaration. This was a joint commitment to work together to ensure that our great city will continue to be a place of welcome, generosity, and equality with respect for all. And despite the challenges we face, this is something I’m optimistic about because it’s clear there is so much more that unites us than divides us.
