The sun gives its blood
To the dying earth.
It sets the sunlight flowing
Into the body of the earth
And makes green leaves and branches
Grow from the bones of the dead.
Can you hear it?
The offshoots of dead bones
Are the clinking winecups of flowers.
This is spring.
