Prime Minister Trudeau’s Message on Easter
April 16, 2017
This weekend, millions of Canadians and billions of people around the world will gather with friends and family to celebrate Easter, or Pascha, as it’s called in the Orthodox Church.
Easter falls on the same day in the Eastern and Western churches this year, so I’m delighted to join with people from both traditions to celebrate.
The story of Jesus Christ’s resurrection reminds us to appreciate what we have, and to look toward the future with hope and optimism.
As Canada turns 150 this year, let’s put into practice what it really means to love our neighbours as ourselves.
On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish a happy Easter to everyone celebrating – and we hope all Canadians find plenty of joy and renewal this season.
