Translation Didactics

10th to 21st January 2011

Module 1: distance learning from January 10th to 14th, 2011

Module 2: on-site training at ETI, From January 17th to 21st, 2011  

Introduction

The program aims to provide translation trainers the opportunity to learn new approaches in translation didactics and to provide an international forum to share experience and discuss issues such as how to best structure a course, how to train translators and what to teach.

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

              Properly use translation didactics pedagogical and technical tools;

              Improve their ability to structure a course;

              Develop their own project and discuss it;

              Respond to present and future needs.

Participants

Translators or language teachers who want to specialize in the training of translators.

Assessment

A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who have completed the following tasks:

1. Oral presentation of a book (critical analysis)

2. Drafting of a course plan taking into account recent research on expertise.

Course style and content

The style of the seminar will be participative and informal. You will be encouraged to express your own views and raise any questions that you might have about translation didactics.
