主席女士：　

Madam President,

中国代表团对印度代表团表示热烈欢迎，赞赏印度积极参加国别人权审查的建设性姿态。　

The Chinese delegation warmly welcomes the Indian delegation, and appreciates India’s constructive engagement in the UPR process.

中方赞赏印度认真落实其在首轮国别人权审查中接受的建议，努力保障妇女、儿童权益，向儿童提供免费义务教育，努力降低孕产妇和婴儿死亡率。印度在保障民众就业权利、促进老年人权利等方面也采取了一系列积极措施。中方对印度取得的进步表示欢迎。　

China commends India for its effective implementation of the accepted recommendations from the First Cycle of the UPR and for its efforts to safeguard the rights and interests of women and children, to provide free and compulsory education for children and to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate. In areas such as protecting the right to work and the rights of the elderly, India has also taken a series of positive measures. China welcomes the progress achieved by India.

中方理解印度作为发展中国家和人口大国，在促进和保护人权方面仍面临不少挑战。我们相信印度政府会努力克服这些困难，更好地促进和保护人权，实现经济社会可持续发展。　　

China understands that as a populous developing country, India is still faced with many challenges in promoting and protecting human rights. We are convinced that the government of India will overcome these difficulties so as to better promote and protect human rights and achieve sustainable economic and social development.
