The Shanghai World Expo has captured the imagination of the entire world as demonstrated by the presence of so many countries in this beautiful city. I wish to congratulate the Government of the People's Republic of China and the organisers of the Shanghai World Expo for putting up such an outstanding exhibition. For Mauritius it is a singular honour to have been invited to this historical event. I would like to express my deep appreciation for this opportunity. Our participation is an act of faith in the future of China and the crucial role it is playing to ensure a more equitable world order. It also bears testimony to the strong bond of friendship that exists between Mauritius and China. It gives me great pleasure to invite you to visit the Mauritian Pavilion and discover the unique opportunity that my country offers. I convey to you the greetings of my Government and those of the people of Mauritius. Thank you.
