Ten Lines: Autumn Xiang
Yang
Unable
to hold on to the dry branches, Leaves
tumble to the morning-chilled pond. A
man with an umbrella walks past the dewy lake, Listens
to a pine-cone drop from the right of the woods, Calls
out in surprise:
“Is
this the way you come?” Ripples
and echoes linger on the hollow surface of water, Duckweed
stands abrupt, leaving the clear mountain reflections To
kiss the sky, blue after rain. This
is deep, deep autumn now.
