第一最好是不相见，

如此便可不至相恋；

第二最好是不相识，

如此便可不用相思。*

In the first place it is best not to see,

(Then there) is no chance to fall in love.

In the second place it is best not to become intimate,

(Then you will) not be forlorn (when you) miss.
