Yes, I’ll be gone, and no delay!

How many battles can be waged

In the span of a man’s lifetime?

For twenty years I’ve strained to swim

In waters of the worldly sea,

And kept intact my integrity

Between brown Earth and Heaven blue.

Perchance my comrades are unhurt,

And new plans they would yet pursue.

So the myriad-faced world is free

From owls and panthers—vampires all,

What cares one intellectual

To give his life up, if need be?
