Having cooked rice, a daughter-in-law presented a bowl of rice to her father-in-law. After the first bite, the father-in-law praised her, “Very delicious! I want to eat three bowls.” Hearing that, the daughter-in-law said quickly, “It’s me who cooked the rice.” While taking the second bite, he heard a sound “kacha”, and then yelled, “What a big grain of sand!” She replied at once, “The rice was washed by my sister-in-law.” When he asked, “Why has the rice a burnt smell?” she answered, “My mother-in-law was minding the fire.”
