In reading Ts’ao-t’ang shih-yu one is reminded of Wei Hu’s Ts’ai-tiao chi (Collection of great talent). In reading Chu Yi-tsun’s Tz’u tsung and Chang Hui-yen and Tung Yi’s Tz’u hsuan [and Hsu tz’u hsuan], one is reminded of Shen Te-ch’ien’s San-ch’ao shih pieh-ts’ai chi (Selection of poetry of three dynasties).
