朱子谓：“梅圣俞诗，不是平淡，乃是枯槁。”余谓草窗、玉田之词亦然。

Chu His said of Mei Yao-ch’en’s poems that ‘they were either insipid or arid.’ It is my opinion that the tz’u of Chou Mi and Chang Yen also fit this description.
