固哉、皋文之为词也！飞卿《菩萨蛮》、永叔《蝶恋花》、子瞻《卜算子》，皆兴到之作，有何命意？皆被皋文深文罗织。阮亭《花草蒙拾》谓：“坡公命宫磨蝎，生前为王珪、舒亶辈所苦，身后又硬受此差排。”由今观之，受差排者，独一坡公已耶？<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

How absurd was Chang Hui-yen’s treatment of tz’u. Wen T’ing-yun’s tz’u to the tune of ‘P’u sa man’, Ouyang Hsiu’s tz’u to the tune of ‘Tieh lien hua’, and Su Shih’s tz’u to the tune of ‘Pu suan tzu’, were all evocative expressions of sentiment with no hidden meaning implied, but they were given abstruse and involved interpretations by Chang. Wang Shih-chen, in his Hua-ts’ao meng-shih, said: ‘Po-kung [Su Shih] lived under the zodiacal sign of mo-hsieh 磨蝎 (Capricon). During his life he suffered at the hands of Wang Kuei and Shu tan, and after death the same kind of treatment still persisted.’ But viewed from the present day, was Su Shih the only one who suffered such treatment?
