Autumn wind blows across the waters of the Wei.

Palling leaves fill Ch’ang’an.

Chou Pang-yen used this in a tz’u and Pai P’u used it in a ch’u. This is a case of borrowing the ching-chieh of a former poet to make it into one’s own. However, unless one has ching-chieh of one’s own, that of the ancients cannot be put to one’s use.
