诗人必有轻视外物之意，故能以奴仆命风月。又必有重视外物之意，故能与花草共忧乐。

If a poet can really see things outside himself with imperturbability he will be able to make slaves of the wind and moon [sensual pleasures]. If, at the same time, he can also see things outside himself with deep concern he will be able to share sorrow and joy with all living things.
