周介存谓：“梅溪词中，喜用‘偷’字，足以定其品格。”刘融斋谓：“周旨荡而史意贪。”此二语令人解颐。

Chou Chi said: ‘The fact that Shih Ta-tsu liked to use the word t’ou 偷 (secretly) in his tz’u was ample evidence of his character’. Liu Hsi-tsai said: ‘Chou Pang-yen emphasized the licentious while Shih Ta-tsu’s ideas [were colored by] covetousness’. I find these two comments altogether laughable.
