云峰满目放春晴，历历银钩指下生。

自恨罗衣掩诗句，举头空羡榜中名。

Cloudy peaks fill my eyes, the clearness of spring is released,

The silver hooks spring to life one by one beneath their fingers. ¹

I resent these gauze robes of mine which conceal poems’ lines,

I raise my head, envying the names on the roster of successful candidates.

far from the lightness of spring;

silver spools of calligraphy

take shape beneath my hand.

Too bad my silken woman’ dress

obscures my poetry;

looking up, I uselessly

envy the names on the list I see.
