He who stays is going back to his carriage now,

He who wanders will untie his boat soon.

I reflect how smiling at one and the same farewell banquet,

We are now split into sorrow in two regions.

Dew damps the grass by the chilly pond,

The moon shines on the Huai River flowing.

Having but newly embraced adieu’s regrets,

I abide alone in our old home land’s autumn.
