Simply like a fair just emerging out of Huaqing Pool¹ following a bath for amusement,

Her ruddy skin remains visually exposed, though obiquely veiled with green gossamer.

Even if peaches and plums are endued with the faculty of speech as a natural endowment,

Can they and Xizi² match her so charmingly and so tenderly?

1. “Huaqing Pool” was a haunt wherein laved Yang Taizhen.

2. “Xizi” is, namely Xi Shi.
