Liu Bei: an offspring of the Han royal family and the first king of Shu, one of the three states of the Three Kingdoms (220-280). He tried to restore the Han Dynasty and appointed Zhuge Liang as his premier. After his death, his son Liu Chan came to throne. He was, however, a weak king.
