梅子金黄杏子肥，麦花雪白菜花稀。

日长篱落无人过，唯有蜻蜓蛱蝶飞。

Fan Chengda

Heavy the trees with the load of golden plum,

To mellow age the almond fruit is come,

Flowers of the rape-turnip bloom and blow,

And the long barley blossoms into snow.

Long and serene my solitary day

Hedged in with summer, and never a passerby,

Except those bright-wing’d insect-travellers

Going about their glittering affairs.
