满目望云山。

落日鸟边下，

秋原人外闲。

遥知远林际，

不见此檐间。

好客多乘月，

应门莫上关。

Upon the Garden Terrace of Pei Di

No need to leave the homestead, how true—

Here all the cloud-curled hills are in view!

Beyond birds’ reach the sun’s going down,

With autumn plains at leisure by the town…

But from my house ’cross the woods far there,

In vain to spot this I think I’d stare.

“He always keeps his guests for the moon,

So boy, please don’t bar the door so soon.”
