仲春遘时雨，

始雷发东隅。

众蛰各潜骇，

草木纵横舒。

翩翩新来燕，

双双入我庐。

先巢故尚在，

相将还旧居。

自从分别来，

门庭日荒芜；

我心固匪石，

君情定何如？

Allegories (Ⅲ)

In early Spring when timely rain descends,

The thunder starts to rumble in the East;

From deep recess the animals are roused,

Both trees and herbs straightway with leaves increased.

The newcome swallows in their skimming flight

In pairs arrive upon my roof to rest;

Their home of former seasons still remains

And they return to the familiar nest.

Since we departed on our different ways

With needs my porch and court are overgrown.

My heart will not as grinding stones revolve;

Do not you too the same allegiance own?
