to the tune of Rising Step by Step

Lu Zhi

Rain stops and dispersed are clouds dim,

The river is filled with the moonlight to the brim.

The wind is light and the wave is calm,

The boat is a wafting leaf-like palm,

Carrying at midnight an awaken heart,

A dream of endless life in part.

Separate now, to a place, so far away, remote,

Feeling stuffy, I recline against the window of the boat.
