朝起早，夜眠迟，老易至，惜此时。

In the morning get up early

And in the evening go to bed late.

Old age comes to you easily before you know it,

You should treasure the present.

 

晨必盥，兼漱口，便溺回，辄净手。

 

In the morning you must wash your face and your hands,

And your mouth must be rinsed.

After your toilet,

Your hands must be again washed.

 

冠必正，纽必结，袜与履，俱紧切。

 

You must keep your hat straight when you wear it,

You must button your clothes properly.

Your socks, stockings and shoes

Must all be put on and tied tightly.

 

置冠服，有定位，勿乱顿，致污秽。

 

Put your hat and clothes

At a fixed place.
If you put them at random,

You’ll dirty them in any case.

 

衣贵洁，不贵华，上循分，下称家。

 

Clothes are valued for their cleanness,

Not their gorgeousness.

Upper-class people should be dressed in accordance with their status,

And lower-class people should wear their clothes according to their family conditions.

 

对饮食，勿拣择，食适可，勿过则。

 

About what you eat and drink

Don’t be too particular.

You should stop before over-eating

And don’t eat too much and too good for ever.
