汉英对照《弟子规》（总叙）

弟子规，圣人训。首孝悌，次谨信，泛爱众，而亲仁。有余力，则学文。

Pupils’ rules and disciplines

Are from what was instructed by Confucius.

Pupils should be first filial and respectful to the elders;

And secondly earnest, modest, honest and cautious.

They should overflow in love to all,

And be friendly with those who are virtuous.

When they have time and opportunity after the performance of the above things,

They should employ them in polite studies.
