两重山，

山远天高烟水寒，

相思枫叶丹。

菊花残。

雁已西飞人未还，

一帘风月闲。

Everlasting Longing

The hills nearby

And mountains high

Extend with misty water as far as the sky;

The longing maple leaves turn to red dye.

Chrysanthemums sigh;

Chrysanthemums die.

You don’t come back when wild geese westward fly,

A screen of breeze and moonlight left before my eye.
