一点残红欲尽时。

乍凉秋气满屏帏。

梧桐叶上三更雨，

叶叶声声是别离。

那时同唱鹧鸪词。

如今风雨西楼夜，

Red flames of burned-up candle shed flickering light,

In chilly autumn air are drowned the screens in view.

The drizzle drips on plane trees at the dead of night,

Drop by drop, leaf on leaf reminds me of your adieu.

We played on zither dear,

Incense from burner rose,

Singing the lovebirds’ song, together we stayed close.

Tonight wind and rain rage in western bower drear,

How can I not shed tears

When none sings to my ears!
