岸远沙平，

日斜归路晚霞明。

孔雀自怜金翠尾，

临水，

认得行人惊不起。

Ou Yangjiong

The bank far stretched on the level sand,

The setting sun with its evening glow shone on my homeward path.

A peacock admiring his own chrysoberyl tail,

Was looking at the stream.

It seemed he knew me, and though started, did not fly away.
