The Refreshing Pavilion Inaugurated

Zhao Yanduan

The sky-scraping pine-tree holds the moon up;

A riot of fallen leaves startles wild geese.

Glistening dew looks like a brimming cup;

Laden with cloud, my sleeves can’t flap with ease.

In southern scenic spot

Girt with blue stream and peak,

Maple leaves redden half the creek.

A roamer tired should go back to his cot,

In this pavilion he may lie

To watch the cold blue sky.
