天外雨初收。

风紧云轻已变秋。

邂逅故人同一笑，

聚散人生宜自谋。

Song of a Southern Country

The rain has just stopped in the sky;

The wind is swift, the clouds are light and autumn’s nigh.

I chance to meet with an old friend and we both smile.

Delay awhile!

We should decide ourselves whether to go or to stay.

Should I go southward way?

In an ocean of clouds I’d float

My leaflike boat.

Do not fear in the perilous lake rise waves black!

Go back!

Do you not see in the tower by the brook

Someone is waiting with longing look?
