画堂初见伊，

明月当窗满。

今夜月如眉，

话别河桥畔。

In painted hall I first met you;

Over the windows shines the full moon bright.

The crescent moon is like eyebrow tonight;

But by the riverside we bid adieu.

By the Mid-Autumn Day we’ll meet again;
Forget not wing to wing we’ll fly!

Let not the full moon shine on high

Over two hearts broken in vain!
