命薄佳人，情锺我辈。海棠开后心如碎。斜风细雨不曾晴，倚阑滴尽胭脂泪。

恨不能开，开时又背。春寒只了房栊闭。待他晴后得君来，无言掩帐羞憔悴。

Ill-fated beauty in view,
How can I not fall in love with you?
I’m broken-hearted to see you fade.
In wind and rain fine day's no more;
You've shed all rouged tears by the balustrade.

To my regret you are not in full bloom
When you're in bloom, I fall in gloom.
For spring is cold and I must shut the door.
When the day's fine, I see you sigh,
Wordless, veiled by the screen, languid and shy.
