客不离货，

财不露白。

谗言不可听，

听之祸殃结。

君听臣遭诛，

夫妇听之离，

兄弟听之别，

朋友听之疏，

亲戚听之绝。

鬼神可敬不可谄，

冤家宜解不宜结。

人生何处不相逢，

莫因小怨动声色。

Do not leave your luggage,

Do not let others learn about your money.

Gossip cannot be believed,

It may bring anyone a catastrophe:

It may cause the death of officials

And the punishment of children,

The divorce of husbands and wives

And the separation of brothers,

The estrangement of friends

And the neglect of relatives.

Divinities should not be fawned upon

But should be respected,

Enmity should not be made

But should be eliminated.

People are likely to meet everywhere,

Do not lose your temper

Over small grievances.
