送君千里，

终须一别。

不矜细行，

终累大德。

亲戚不悦，

无务外交；

事不终始，

无务多业。

临难毋苟免，

临财毋苟得。

气死莫告状，

饿死莫做贼。

醉后思仇人，

君子避酒客。

智者千虑，

必有一失；

愚者千虑，

必有一得。

千年田地八百主，

田是主人人是客。

良田不由心田置，

产业变为冤业折。

However far one goes to see off a friend,

There must be a departure.

If you are not cautious

About even your trivial acts,

Your cultivation of morality will be hindered.

If they are not willing,

Do not force yourself

To deal with your relatives;

If they prove difficult o preserve with,

Do not engage in too many matters.

Do not force yourself to avoid

When a misfortune is impossible to avoid,

Do not force yourself to acquire

When a treasure is impossible to acquire.

Do not make an accusation

Even when you are dying of anger,

Do not commit theft

Even when you are dying of hunger.

A drunken man is likely to seek an enemy,

A gentleman should keep away

From an intoxicated drinker.

The wise are not always free from error,

The foolish occasionally hit on a good idea.

Fields are hosts while people are guests,

A field changes hundreds of owners

Within a thousand years.

Fields are not gained because of good wishes,

Property is lost in sinful affairs.
