欲临死而无挂碍，

先在生时事事看得轻；

欲遇变而无仓忙，

须向常时念念守得定。

识得破，

忍不过；

说得硬，

守不定。

笑前辙，

忘后跌。

轻千乘，

豆羹竞。

One who wants to die free from care

Must take everything lightly,

One who does not want to get flurried

When meeting with changes

Must get well prepared for every possibility.

An obvious truth may prove difficult to endure,

A sworn promise may prove difficult to keep.

One who laughs at an overturned cart ahead

May neglect his own possible fall,

One who despises thousands of chariots
